This ring captures the essence of Woman in the Dunes, the 1962 novel by Kobo Abe. The 4x6 mm fabricated house is modeled directly after the house featured in the 1964 movie of the same name directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara. Standing in its base, the ring acts as a miniature zen garden. When worn, it becomes an object of zen bondage: the wearer must be careful lest they spill the sand or bury the house.
